Terms of Service

The agreement between you and WhaleOrbit.

This document is being finalised

The full Terms of Service are with our legal counsel and will be published here before paid accounts open. The points below are already binding on how we operate and will not be softened in the final text. They are the substance, not a summary of something different.

What WhaleOrbit is

WhaleOrbit is a data and research tool. We collect public records (congressional periodic transaction reports, SEC insider filings, published news) and we compute things from them: counts, scores, clusters, timings, summaries. That is the whole product.

What WhaleOrbit is not

Nothing in the product is investment advice, a recommendation, a solicitation, or an offer to buy or sell anything. We are not a broker, not an investment adviser, and not a financial planner, and we are not registered as any of those with any authority.

We do not know your circumstances and we are not taking them into account. Every decision you make with what you read here is yours alone, and you should speak to a licensed professional before acting on any of it.

Accuracy and delay

The underlying records are filed by other people, on their schedule, and are often late, incomplete, banded into ranges, or wrong at source. We publish what the filings say and link back to each original so you can check it. We do not warrant that anything is accurate, current or complete, and disclosure delays mean the market has usually already seen what you are reading.

No performance promises

We make no claim, express or implied, that using WhaleOrbit will make you money. Where we ever show historical or simulated figures they are labelled as such, and past behaviour of any dataset says nothing about the future.

Your account

One account, one person. Keep your credentials to yourself; you are responsible for what happens under your login. Do not scrape, redistribute, resell or republish our computed data, and do not use the service to break any law that applies to you.

We may suspend an account that abuses the service, shares access, or puts us in breach of an agreement with one of our data sources.

Subscriptions, billing and cancellation

Subscriptions bill monthly through Stripe and renew until cancelled. You can cancel at any time from the billing portal in your account; access continues to the end of the period you have already paid for. Card details never reach our servers.

Liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, WhaleOrbit is not liable for trading losses, lost profits, or any indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the service. This is a research tool; you carry the risk of what you do with it.

Changes and contact

We will post material changes on this page before they take effect. Questions go to business@whaleorbit.com.

Alongside these terms sit the Privacy Policy and the Cookie Policy.
