The daily news desk. Every story carries its tickers, how many independent outlets report it and a short note on what it could mean. When members of Congress disclosed trades on one of those tickers in the 14 days before it, the desk says so right underneath: how many trades, how many lawmakers, purchases and sales.

Tailor-made

We build tools for other businesses, startups and individuals.

Whale Orbit is what happens when we point our own tooling at public filings. The same tooling has been pointed at price lists, catalogues and back offices.

Tell us the problem: we build it for you, or license you something we already built. Either way, priced to the size of the job.

Small businessA trade catalogue that only its customers can see

Almost ten thousand products today, about thirty thousand once three or four more wholesalers are added for price comparison. Behind a login, priced per account, updated from the owner's phone.

LicensingThe engines behind our own products

The pipelines that read public filings, score them and publish them are not tied to filings. Point them at your data and they do the same job on it.

IndividualsExampleOne person, one problem, one tool

Smaller builds for a single operator: a watchlist that reads what you actually read, a report that writes itself every morning.

Client names and screenshots are withheld until each client agrees in writing to be named.

How we work

Two kinds of work, one standard.

Financial information

Three rules we do not bend.

We don’t slap AI on everything

The trackers are deterministic end to end: a filing goes in, arithmetic comes out, and no model sits between the document and the number you read. Models only describe, on the news desk and under a signal, and what they write never changes what was filed.

Telemetry, not narrative

We do not endorse a party, a person, a fund or an asset, and we do not tell you what a disclosure means for you. We publish the record; the conclusion is yours.

Open before you pay

The news desk is free and needs no login. You can read what we publish, and judge it, before deciding whether any of it is worth paying for.

NFA · DYOR

Whale Orbit organizes information that is already public. It does not provide investment advice, recommendations or signals, and past disclosed activity says nothing about future outcomes.

Forward deployed engineering · for businesses, startups and individuals

We build next to the people who do the job.

What US teams call forward deployed engineering: inside your process, not across a wall.

Inside the process

We sit next to the person who runs the job every day and learn it from them. No spec handed over a wall.

Something that works, early

A small working piece comes first. The rest is built in stages you can see, then improved with use.

A straight answer first

The first conversation is free. If the problem is not ours to solve, we say so.

About

A small studio that builds tools, then uses them.

Whale Orbit turns data nobody has time to read into something anyone can read in minutes. Our own products read public filings and the day's news. The same engines, pointed somewhere else, run catalogues and back offices for other businesses.

We work in what US teams call forward deployed engineering: next to the person who does the job every day, shipping something small and working early, then improving it with use. If a problem is not ours to solve, we say so.

Questions

What people ask before they start.

Anything else: business@whaleorbit.com

Is it legal to track what politicians trade?

Reading the reports is. U.S. law requires members of Congress to disclose their trades, and company insiders to report theirs to the SEC, so that the public can see them. We publish them as information for everyone: we put them in order, compare them with the day's news, look for patterns such as positions built in small pieces or several members on the same stock, and link every entry to its source.

Where does the data come from?

Congressional disclosures and SEC insider filings, received through a financial data provider, and market news from the outlets and official feeds RECON follows. Every entry links to its original source.

Does Whale Orbit trade for me, or tell me what to buy?

No. There is no order button, no entry, no stop, no target and no position sizing. Telling you what to buy is regulated advice, and we are not licensed to give it.

Why does a filing show up weeks after the trade?

Because the law allows it: congressional disclosures can arrive more than a month after the transaction. Every entry shows the trade date, the filing date and the gap between them.

What is free, exactly?

RECON. Reading the daily desk needs no account and no card: every story with its tickers, tone, outlet count and a short note on what it could mean, plus how many Congress trades touch its tickers. A free account adds a watchlist and alerts: tools to follow the news over time, not more news.

Can I cancel whenever I want?

Yes, from your account, without writing to anyone. Subscriptions run monthly or yearly, Supporter is a single payment with nothing to cancel, and RECON stays free either way.

Can you build something for me?

Yes, for businesses, startups and individuals: a bespoke build, or a licence on something we already built. Tell us the problem and we will say plainly whether we are the right people for it. The price follows the size of the job.
