Congress Tracker
Congress has to declare what it buys and sells. We find the patterns in it.
Every trade disclosed by U.S. Representatives and Senators, in one feed. We reassemble positions built from trades too small to notice one by one, spot several members converging on the same stock, and set every ticker next to the day's news on RECON.

How it works
- 1
A member files a disclosure
Trades are declared to the House Clerk or the Senate electronic filing system, often weeks after the trade.
- 2
We read it, then look across filings
Member, ticker, amount band, trade date and filing date, with the lag worked out. Then the patterns: repeated trades on one stock become one position, several members on one stock become one cluster.
- 3
You follow it, next to the news
Filter the feed, open a member, check the same ticker on RECON. Follow a name and get an alert when they file again.
Pattern finding
- Accumulation: the same member trading the same stock in the same direction more than once, reassembled into one position with its total, from $200K up on the disclosed bands.
- Clusters: several members converging on one ticker, ranked Bronze to Silver, Gold and Platinum by how many, how much and how fast. Clusters that span the House and the Senate are marked.
- Large trades flagged as they land, and the largest traders ranked on the amounts they disclosed.
- A 30-day recap: purchases against sales across Congress, and the most-traded tickers.
Linked to RECON
- Every RECON story that names a ticker members traded shows the count: trades, lawmakers, purchases and sales disclosed in the 14 days before the story.
- With the tracker, the filings behind that count are yours: filter by the ticker and see who, when and how much.
- The other way round: search any ticker from the tracker on RECON and read the news around the trade.
What you see
- House and Senate filings in one feed, filterable by member, chamber, purchase or sale, ticker, asset type, size and date.
- Stocks and the other asset types members disclose, each labelled.
- A page for every member: operations, purchases and sales, declared volume, median disclosure lag and every filing.
- The disclosure lag on every entry, highlighted when it runs past 45 days.
Where the data comes from
- The disclosures members file with the House Clerk and the Senate, received through a financial data provider.
- Every entry carries the transaction date, the filing date and a link to the document.
- Amounts are disclosed in bands, not exact figures. We show the band. We do not invent a midpoint.
What it does not do
- No buy or sell calls. No entry, no stop, no target.
- No claim that a filing predicts anything.
- No trading on your behalf, in any circumstance.
